SQL Injection Vulnerability in Online Clinic Management System

An unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability in the Administrative Mutation Handler of the Online Clinic Management System allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary database queries via the docid parameter.

CVE search metadata

CVE search record: CVE-2026-112139. Severity: high. CVSS: 7.3. KEV: no. Product: online-clinic-management-system (up to e9ee77a8827a1446220fa07ee693dc4d9a29a578). Brief: SQL Injection Vulnerability in Online Clinic Management System. Brief link: https://feed.craftedsignal.io/briefs/2026-10-sql-injection-online-clinic/

A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the subhajitkhan Online Clinic Management System, specifically affecting the admindocview.php file within the Administrative Mutation Handler component. The vulnerability arises from improper input validation of the docid argument, which is processed in database queries without sufficient sanitization. This flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to manipulate database queries, potentially leading to unauthorized data access, modification, or administrative privilege escalation. The vulnerability impacts all versions up to commit e9ee77a8827a1446220fa07ee693dc4d9a29a578. Because the project utilizes a rolling release model and the maintainers have not yet provided a patch or a response to the disclosed issue, users of this software remain at significant risk of remote exploitation.

Attack Chain

  1. Attacker performs reconnaissance to identify instances of the Online Clinic Management System.
  2. Attacker probes the Administrative Mutation Handler component for input validation flaws.
  3. Attacker sends a crafted HTTP GET or POST request targeting admindocview.php.
  4. Attacker injects malicious SQL syntax into the docid parameter.
  5. The server-side application processes the malicious input and executes the injected SQL command against the backend database.
  6. The database returns unauthorized data or performs unauthorized actions based on the attacker's input.
  7. Attacker extracts sensitive patient records or administrative credentials from the database.

Impact

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows remote attackers to compromise the integrity and confidentiality of the entire clinical database. Given the nature of the application, this includes the potential exfiltration of sensitive patient health information and administrative data. There is no patch currently available, leaving all deployments prior to the latest commit vulnerable to data breach and unauthorized system manipulation.

Recommendation

Prioritized actions for security teams:

  • Identify and audit all instances of the Online Clinic Management System running within the environment.
  • Implement strict input validation at the web application firewall (WAF) level to block HTTP requests containing SQL injection patterns in the docid parameter.
  • Restrict access to administrative endpoints, including admindocview.php, to known management subnets via network access control lists.
  • Monitor web server access logs for anomalous characters (e.g., single quotes, comment markers like --, UNION, SELECT) within the URI query parameters targeting admindocview.php.
